Sir Bob Geldof, former Boomtown Rats singer and organizer of the original Live Aid 20 years ago has announced the follow up to the massive charity concert.

Teaming up with Midge Ure, former Ultravox singer, the follow up concert shall coincide with the G8 Summit scheduled this July. The concert, already attracting a number of big-named bands and artists shall have a more political agenda.
They're also "rumoured to be planning a series of concerts around the world, including one in Hyde Park, central London, to put pressure on world leaders during the summit to cut third world debt, reform trade agreements and increase aid to the region."

The free event will be held in London's Hyde Park on 2 July with concerts in Philadelphia, Paris, Rome and Berlin.
